Mt Fuji is Japan’s highest peak at 3,776 meters(12,389 feet). This active stratovolcano sits on Honshu island between Yamanashi and Shizuoka prefectures, about 100 kilometers west of Tokyo. Dormant since 1707,it is a sacred cultural symbol and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
